Zygoplasia Cup

This moderate mug is just right for a warm morning drink. The handle sweeps across the foot in a unified curve, and the slightly lowered lip makes the perfect sipping point.
It was thrown on the wheel, then the handle and base were sculpted on. A raised design was painted on with copper slip, and it was outlined with wax and selectively glazed. It was fired once to bisque, then again in a reduction soda atmosphere, which brought out faint reds in the copper under its celadon glaze.
